While laying in his bed during quarantine, an early victim of the little then known virus that would later cause mass hysteria; Brian Donnelly (KAWS) quietly sketched out the vision for the "URGE" portfolio. A stark reaction to the doctors telling him time and time again to "not touch his face".
A 10-part print series released in 2020, Urge by KAWS features his most famous cross-eyed cartoon character, Companion. Characterised by his inflated skull and crossbones head, crossed-out eyes and Mickey Mouse-like body and gloved hands, Companion has become a prolific figure, recognised worldwide and closely associated with KAWS’ name.
