As 2024 wound to a close, the contemporary art world was treated to one last surprise; Jerkface , the anonymous New York City based street artist hosted a surprise exhibition in his home town.
”Home court,” was a milestone for the enigmatic graffiti artist who has decorated the streets of New York over the last two decades with his eccentric, pop inspired murals.
Over the years street art fans local to the big apple have been treated to the artist’s eccentric murals; Trippy Double Visions of Mickey Mouse, crowds of Homer Simpsons (sans eyes) and Super Mario(s) all dashing in different directions have surprised and delighted the NYC street art world.
Home Court brought about a few coveted editions to add to the artist’s catalogue that seems to expand ever so slightly every year.
”Uptown” is a collector favorite from the show.
The work shows Pink Panther dressed in a pink fur coat, reminiscent of an early photoshoot of iconic NYC rapper Cam’ron.
The work is brand new, it has never been removed from its original packaging.
This edition is number one from the edition of only 25 works (numbered 1/25).
This is a sought after work and is a must have for any serious Jerkface collector.
The work will also be a welcomed addition to any contemporary art collection as Jerkface has climbed the ranks, slowly but surely from outsider to ”Bluechip” status.
