The work shows a Pocari Sweat can (a popular carbonated beverage in Japan) alongside an apple and the artist’s omnipresent SPACE INVADER character.

The work is a nod to Japanese culture as well as an example of the artist’s working process, while developing his tile mosaics, which he has become known for and have been placed in major metropolitan areas the world over.

The work has been in the possession of the original owner for the past ten years. The prior owner purchased the work at the exhibition then had it framed to true museum quality standards in Tokyo.

The work has been removed from the frame, fully inspected then reframed with archival materials. The screen print is flawless. This work is a true time capsule.
