Since Robert Indiana’s death in 2018, his ”Love” and ”Hope” works have begun to be considered amongst the most iconic images from an American artist in the 20th century.

This example, a silkscreen published in 1967 is an excellent early example of his ”Love” motif.

The image is four different squares combining to make one image. The work has amazingly never been framed.

The image is in very good condition for its age (an almost 60 year old screen print).

The colors are extremely vibrant and the work shows extremely well. There is toning to the sheet verso which can be expected of a work this age.

While most of these variants are not hand signed, this work is hand signed, dated, numbered (from an edition of only seven works) as well as titled en verso (on the back); “Robert Indiana, Love, ‘67.”

This is an excellent investment piece as well as an excellent example of ”20th century, American contemporary art” , at its finest.

This is a work any serious collector would be pleased to add to their collection.

While artist’s like Warhol and Keith Haring regularly achieve six figure auction results for their screenprints; the Indiana works (while climbing in value) still remain accessible to most collectors.
