*APC ART is honored to present “Sleeping Baby” — an exceptionally rare hand signed and numbered silkscreen in colors on Arches wove paper by Stik, measuring 59 × 108 cm (23.2 × 42.5 inches), from the ultra-limited edition of only 25 works. This example is hand signed in graphite in the lower right margin and hand numbered in the lower left. The work has never been previously framed and is currently being prepared to full museum archival standard for long-term conservation and immediate installation.*
*Stik is one of the most important and culturally significant artists to emerge from the London street art movement. Rising from a background of homelessness to become an internationally exhibited and institutionally collected figure, his practice is rooted in human connection, social justice, and public space. With a visual language distilled to the absolute minimum — six lines and two dots — Stik achieves a level of emotional depth that few contemporary artists can match. His work is held in major public collections and permanently installed across global cities, functioning not simply as images but as acts of community engagement and advocacy.*
*“Sleeping Baby” was created in direct support of the NHS in 2013 when the National Health Service faced severe funding challenges. The image — a quietly resting child rendered in Stik’s instantly recognizable linear form — operates as a universal symbol of protection, vulnerability, and collective care. The composition’s stillness carries enormous emotional weight, transforming the artist’s reductive vocabulary into a profound statement on humanity, public health, and mutual responsibility.*
**In order to purchase one of the editions, the buyer had to queue in a line overnight at Stik’s local hospital- Homerton Hospital.**
**Over one thousand people stood in line overnight for the 100 prints offered (25 of each colorway).**
**This work is an absolute masterwork, one of the most emotive and compelling images in the history of British Urban art from one of Britain’s most enigmatic artists.**
*An example of this work resides in the permanent collection of the Moco Museum, Amsterdam — a testament to its art historical importance within Stik’s oeuvre.*
*Signed and numbered screen prints by Stik are extraordinarily rare. Unlike many of his contemporaries, the artist has intentionally restricted the production of traditional editions, and in recent years has actively sought to buy back and remove works from the secondary market in an effort to eliminate editioned material from circulation. As a result, early and fully authenticated hand signed examples — particularly from editions as small as 25 — represent one of the most tightly held and difficult to source categories in contemporary urban art.*
*The yellow variant is among the most visually striking and least encountered colorways. Its luminous ground amplifies the graphic power of the black linear figure and places the work firmly in dialogue with the visual language of public signage and social messaging — a critical component of Stik’s practice. This may be the only yellow example currently available in the United States.*
*Printed on Arches — the gold standard of fine art paper — the work possesses exceptional surface richness and long-term stability. A full professional condition report is available upon request. The print is currently being framed to the highest museum specification using archival materials and UV-protective glazing and will arrive ready to hang.*
*A museum-level Stik of extreme rarity, historic context, and institutional relevance — a true masterpiece and a cornerstone example of the artist’s most important body of editioned work.*
