*APC ART is pleased to present an iconic and sharply satirical edition by the celebrated French artist DRAN.*
Titled *“Price Crash”*, this work was published in *2013* by the legendary publishing house *Pictures On Walls* and is executed as a *9-color screenprint on wove paper*. The work measures *63 cm x 55 cm*, which converts to approximately *24.8” x 21.7”*. It is *hand signed by DRAN in graphite pencil, bottom right*, bears the *Pictures On Walls blind stamp*, and is *hand numbered from the limited edition of only 150 works*.
DRAN emerged from the European street art movement and quickly distinguished himself through a uniquely dark, intelligent, and often unsettling sense of humor. Initially known for his unsanctioned street interventions, DRAN later transitioned into what is often referred to as a “gentleman” artist—working within the studio while retaining the raw psychological edge and social critique that defined his street practice. This evolution placed him firmly among the most respected contemporary artists to successfully bridge street art and fine art without dilution of intent.
*“Price Crash”* is widely regarded as one of DRAN’s most recognizable and admired compositions. The work exemplifies his signature visual language: meticulously rendered environments, bleak irony, and biting commentary on consumerism, capitalism, and societal collapse. The fallen figure beneath the bold *PRICE CRASH!* graphic is both darkly humorous and deeply unsettling—a hallmark of DRAN’s ability to confront viewers with uncomfortable truths through wit and precision.
The imagery is often discussed in close dialogue with *Banksy’s* iconic *“Sale Ends”*, and this comparison is no coincidence. DRAN has long been regarded as a close ally and contemporary of Banksy, sharing both philosophical alignment and institutional support through *Pictures On Walls*, one of the most influential publishing houses in the history of street and contemporary art. Works released by POW are widely considered blue-chip within the genre, with many now held in major private and institutional collections worldwide.
From a stylistic standpoint, *“Price Crash”* contains nearly all of DRAN’s defining elements: hyper-controlled draftsmanship, bleak narrative staging, deadpan humor, and a brutal critique of modern consumption. It is precisely these qualities that have cemented DRAN’s reputation as one of the most intellectually rigorous artists to emerge from the street art movement.
The work has *never been framed*, remains in *excellent condition*, and has been *stored flat to archival standards*. It is *in hand in the United States* and will *ship immediately*.
*We are pleased to offer archival framing options* to museum standards that will both protect and elevate this important work.
An outstanding opportunity to acquire a cornerstone DRAN edition—widely considered one of his most important prints and a defining image of post-2000 contemporary street art.
