Robert Del Naja, is primarily known as the pioneering member of the legendary Trip Hop group Massive attack.
Hailing from Bristol, UK (along Damien Hirst as well as Banksy ), Del Naja is also recognized as one of the UK’s most prolific, preeminent as well as iconic and outspoken street artists.
3D’s early Screenprint releases with Pictures on Walls are considered, by many, to be some of the best works the print house released; “In the Lab”, “In Europe”, “In Baghdad”, “International Jihad” and countless other works are considered grail pieces.
Extremely sought after and rarely available.
In addition, Del Naja’s ongoing and unwavering campaign(s) to fight social injustices and provide aide to war torn regions across the world via charity print releases as well as other fundraising efforts have proven him to be a true humanitarian; a voice for the silenced, providing hope for the hopeless.
These charity print releases have proven to
be in extremely high demand on the secondary marketplace.
Del Naja, has, without a doubt, cemented himself in the annals of not only music history but carved a permanent niche for himself in the British street art/ graffiti scene of the late 1990s/ early 2000’s.
This era subsequently impacted contemporary art arguably in ways that have never been witnessed previously.
Del Naja, was, in fact, part of POWS original roster;
a rag tag group of street and graffiti artists who decided to bypass the stuffy, pretentious galleries of Kensingon and Mayfair, selling screenprints directly
to the public.
Amongst these (then) unknown street artists were names such as Ben Eine, FAILE, Paul Insect, Bast, Vhils, Eelus, D Face, Antony Micallef as well as Dran and Space Invader and of course BANKSY .
IN FACT, IT HAS WIDELY BEEN SPECULATED THROUGHOUT THE YEARS THAT Del Naja is, in fact, the elusive street artist BANKSY.
Despite constant media coverage, FALSE out exhibits, critical acclaim, various residency’s across the globe as well as auction results in the eight figure range;
the artist has seemingly managed to hide his true identity from the general public for decades.
Throughout these decades, there has always been heavy speculation that Del Naja , is in fact the elusive icon of contemporary art.
A Banksy original painting will, of course run a collector in the seven to eight figure range.
APC ART is honored to bring our global collector base this absolutely stunning piece of British street art history.
This, quite frankly, is an absolutely extraordinary work.
Executed by Del Naja in 1990 and gifted to the one and only previous owner a short time later; this original painting appears to be an early version of Del Naja’s legendary ”In Baghdad” screenprint.
The painting has many of the stylistic elements seen in the iconic screenprint.
In addition, the figure in the middle of the painting shares similarities (stylistically) to the figure seen in Del Naja’s “NHS CHARITY PRINT”.
We have added examples of both prints as the last two pictures for comparison.
This is a truly, once in a lifetime opportunity to own an EXTREMELY EARLY ORIGINAL PAINTING FROM DEL NAJA .
The work shows incredibly well, it is absolutely striking.
If you are a collector of the art of Del Naja, Banksy or a fan of this era of British street art, do not miss this opportunity to add this work to your collection.
Original paintings from Del Naja are few and far between, rarely become available and seldom have the iconic, stylistic elements this work contains.
This will not only make an absolutely stunning addition to any contemporary art collection, this work represents an unparalleled investment opportunity.
The work is hand signed by Del Naja, in black paint, bottom left. The work has an inscription en verso.
This is a true piece of street art history, the work will ship immediately to the new owner upon completion of payment.
