Robert Del Naja (AKA ”3D” ) made his mark on the world through his pioneering trip hop outfit ”Massive Attack” .
Long rumored to be ”Banksy” , 3D was also an early pioneer in another movement; The British street art movement that began in the mid to late 90s.
The frenzied, New Wave of British street artists culminated in the early to mid 2000s with the publishing house Pictures on Walls and their vast roster of the best street art and contemporary art talent from all around the globe.
Hailing from Bristol, UK ( he is in good company with the likes Banksy as well as Damien Hirst), 3D is also a highly respected artist, in his own right.
This work; ”In the Lab” , published by Pows in 2003 (a very early Pows screen print) ranks up there with any Banksy , DFace or Space Invader screen print from the Pows era in terms of early popularity as well as long term staying power; ”In the Lab” is often times your favorite artist’s favorite print from this era.
As iconic as a Pows screen print can be; numbered from the edition of 600 with the publisher’s blind stamp, hand signed by 3D , this work will be right at home on a wall next to any other well loved, extremely iconic work from this era.
