Offered TRUE is a very rare edition of Shepard Fairey’s ”Hope” .

This is one of the ten ”Signed Fundraiser editions” that were auctioned off at a high end donor fundraiser in Los Angeles in 2008.

The work(s) were not numbered but were signed and dated by the artist; ”Shepard Fairey ‘08” .

This work has had one owner since 2008. This is the first time the work is being offered TRUE publicly.

These can be spotted due to the signature overlapping into the blue ink, bottom right.

Two of these variants were seen at auction near the end of 2024; they fetched $7000+ and $8500+.

We have priced this work to move quickly. The work was never framed prior to when we framed it late last year.

It has been framed to fit in a simple 2” black contemporary frame. No adhesives were used in the framing process and the print is in exceptional condition.

It is very hard to find these signed and dated. These pieces are becoming EXTREMELY RARE and are truly an excellent investment opportunity.

The work is a piece of American History and will come ready to hang.

Follows is a bit of a background regarding the work/image;

In 2008, Shepard Fairey, a supporter of a then, mostly unknown, Barack Obama was approached about creating an image for his campaign; an image that would resonate with the young, progressive voters Obama was aggressively courting votes from.

Obama was a new type of politician. One that had not spent his entire career in Washington; reaping benefits from lobbyists, big business and billionaires
- all those who who have attempted (and mostly succeeded) to influence (former) president's opinions/stances and objectives (all of which influenced the world we live in).

Fairey agreed, what the world got in return was " HOPE", an image for the ages, one that is synonymous with change, prosperity and a new way of thinking.

This image, without doubt is one of the most iconic images of our time (perhaps of all time when referring to politics).

Barack Obama, of course, went on to be the democratic nominee and subsequently the 44th president of the United states.

Hope graced the cover of time magazine and continues to be a favorite amongst art lovers the world over.
