*APC ART is proud to present “Happy Days,” an exceptionally important large-scale collaborative work by Slawn & Opake, executed in late 2025 at Slawn’s London studio in the days immediately preceding their blockbuster exhibition “Heroes, Villains and Violence” at the Museum of Graffiti during Art Basel / Art Miami.*

*This exhibition has already entered contemporary art history. Widely reviewed, critically praised, and spoken about across the art world, “Heroes, Villains and Violence” was repeatedly described as one of — if not *the* — strongest and most compelling exhibitions seen at Basel / Art Miami in decades. The works from this show represent a clear technical, conceptual, and market-defining leap forward for Slawn.*

*“Happy Days” stands as a definitive example of why this body of work is being regarded as Slawn’s most technically proficient and fully realized output to date. Executed in acrylic spray paint on maple wood panel with maple wood support, the work combines monumental scale (79.75” x 39.5”) with an extraordinary level of control, layering, and compositional confidence.*

*At first glance, the work appears playful — almost disarmingly whimsical — yet the longer one engages with it, the deeper and more complex it becomes. The exaggerated grin, dripping facial features, and bold, graphic line work evoke childhood cartoons and pop culture nostalgia, while simultaneously confronting the viewer with themes of violence, anxiety, power, and social imbalance. This duality — joy colliding with menace — is at the very core of the Heroes, Villains and Violence series.*

*Slawn has rapidly established himself as one of the most important and culturally resonant artists of his generation. Rising from underground street culture to global prominence in an astonishingly short period of time, his trajectory has included major institutional recognition, sold-out exhibitions, landmark public installations, and collaborations spanning art, fashion, and music. His work has been embraced by serious collectors, tastemakers, and cultural institutions alike, cementing his status not as a trend, but as a lasting force in contemporary art.*

*This particular body of work marks a clear evolution in Slawn’s practice. The figures are more refined, the compositions more deliberate, and the execution notably more disciplined without sacrificing the raw energy that first defined his rise. Collectors and critics alike have pointed to this exhibition as the moment Slawn fully bridged the gap between street-derived expression and museum-grade fine art.*

*Opake’s role in this collaboration is equally critical. Deeply rooted in graffiti culture, Opake brings a technical precision, structural balance, and street-level authenticity that grounds the work. His influence sharpens the edges of Slawn’s visual language, resulting in a collaboration that feels cohesive, intentional, and exceptionally strong. Together, the two artists elevate one another, producing works that are far greater than the sum of their parts.*

*“Happy Days” is signed by both artists in black paint marker en verso and titled en verso, consistent with the most important works from this exhibition. The use of maple wood panel further elevates the piece, offering both physical permanence and a sculptural presence rarely achieved in two-dimensional works.*

*Large-scale panel works from the Heroes, Villains and Violence exhibition are already proving exceedingly difficult to acquire. Many entered permanent collections immediately following the show, and few have surfaced publicly since. This format — monumental, collaborative, exhibition-defining — is widely considered the most desirable and investment-grade category from the series.*

*From an investment perspective, this work represents a truly exceptional opportunity. It combines historical significance, museum exhibition provenance, peak-period execution, and monumental scale — all key factors that define long-term blue-chip contemporary art. As Slawn’s market continues to mature, works from this exhibition are expected to be viewed as foundational pieces within his career.*

*The work is available for private preview by appointment only in Miami.*
