Imbue, often referred to as "The Banksy of Brighton" due to his controversial, iconic works that often criticize organized religion, governments ( and the subsequent propaganda through which they further their various "causes") and where the artist hails from (Brighton, UK). Introduces another variant of his iconic piece "Drug Lord".
This edition (of 100) referred to as "mellow yellow" variant (a nod to a popular American soda brand as well as the colors of the work) is composed of multiple layers of perspex and wood, filled with what appear to be prescription capsules inside the crucifix.
Included with the piece is a canvas bag with the artists printed stamp, a certificate of authenticity, a "prescription" for the work as well as various stickers of the artist's take on "the all seeing eye of god".
Imbue continues to evoke awe and develop as an artist, his latest exhibition "Death and Taxes" (where he filled resin skulls with 1 million pounds sterling shredded currency as well as an installation comprised of a bleeding ATM machine "Bleeding me Dry") was quick to sell out and brought rave reviews from both the public and art critics alike.
"Drug Lord" is Imbue at his best, doing what he does best: showing modern society at it's worst.
