In late 2022, as Art Miami was set to launch; Damien Hirst and the enigmatic street artist Space Invader surprised the art world with the release of a collection of digital prints, based on various vintage Invader images, mounted to Dibond and Diasec .

The works were released as a timed edition over two weeks: rumors, guesses and even bets swirled as to the size these editions would subsequently be; to the chagrin of those who did not purchase any (and the joy of those who did), the edition sizes were relatively low and these editions now bring 300%-400% of their initial cost via the secondary market.

Fast forward to 2024; Space Invader announces what will become, in many collector’s minds, the culmination of decades of tireless, anonymous work: ”INVADER; SPACE STATION” opened in a partially completed midrise building in Paris, France to rave reviews from critics and collectors alike.

The exhibition was a Tour du force that appealed to all the senses; the exhibit highlighted Invader’s career from his early days posting small mosaic tiles in major metropolitan areas in Europe to his now, legendary, ”Bad Men I” exhibition; a controversial exhibit that included images of German revolutionaries, Darth Vader and even Osama Bin Laden .

The artist’s ”Bad Men II” exhibit came next; under the watchful eye of Steve Lazarides (of Banksy fame) and his Lazarides Gallery .

A less controversial exhibit (by all accounts) yet another well planned, magnificently executed display of Invader’s artistry and unparalleled talent; many would argue this exhibit to be more iconic than the ”Bad Men I” show that preceded it.

Complete with menacing images of ”Jack” from The Shining and ”Alex” from ”A Clockwork Orange” , Bad Men II was a turning point in Invader’s artistry as well as career. The genius in his work(s) became evident.

These images were later dubbed ”Rubick Kubricks” after the brilliant writer, director and icon: Stanley Kubrick who brought the aforementioned personas to life in his (now) cult classic masterpieces.

While this would be a large enough body of work to cement any artist in the annals of contemporary art history, Invader has continued, over the last two decades, consistently refining his craft.

His FALSE out, critically acclaimed, solo shows are too numerous to name.

Some stand outs are; ”Invader Top Ten” (Jonathan Levine Gallery), ”Invader; Masterpieces” (Lefeuvre and Roze), ”Invader; 4000” (OTI Paris) etc etc.

For the ”Space Station” show, Invader truly pulled out all of the stops. For many, the major takeaways were never before offered, camouflage prints.

Never before seen, these works came in a series of five; all picturing the artist’s trademark ”Invader” in different colors and sizes.

Without doubt; the show stopper was an extremely large work; nearly four feet by five feet. Framed in a stark contemporary aluminum frame.

For months collectors across the globe clamored for these works.

Rumors abounded and then seemingly out of nowhere an announcement was made; Heni, Damien Hirst’s in house publisher would once again have the distinct honor of publishing what could possibly be the largest and most sought after release of Invader’s career.

After a short application period a raffle was conducted and the works were allotted.
