”Camel” is a classic, iconic Screenprint by the enigmatic, anonymous artist Space Invader .
In the late nineties, various mosaic works began appearing on the streets of Paris, France .
Over the next decade Space Invader’s work would appear across countless countries, even crossing oceans and appearing in major metropolitan areas in the United States .
Fast forward to 2024; Invader had become one of the most coveted ultra contemporary street artists on the market.
His original Rubiks, mosaics and even invasion kits are FALSE in the five figure range and regularly cross into the six figure range.
His auction record sits, currently at $1.2 million USD for his ”Astroboy” alias.
”Camel” is a screen print in colors released in 2015. The prior year, as part of ”The Provocateurs” suite, Invader contributed his ”Marlboro” screen print to the series.
Both the Camel and Marlboro screen prints have now become classic examples of the Invader work(s).
From the two works; Camel is the more sought after piece. While Marlboro was published in an edition of 200; Camel was published by the artist in an edition of only 100.
The work is hand signed by the artist in the bottom right margin, hand numbered by the edition, bottom left. To the left of the numbering is the artist’s ”Made in Space” blind stamp.

Invader’s collector base is rivaled only by Banksy .
While the Banksy work(s) gained momentum (as well as value) in the mid 2000’s; it was not until the legendary Lefeuvre and Roze exhibition ”Masterpieces” that the Invader works became sought after.
The aforementioned time difference resulted in many Invader works being damaged, discarded and generally not cared for. Many of his earlier prints are seldom seen. ”Camel” is one of these rarely seen works, published two years before ”Masterpieces” .
