APC ART is pleased to offer our global collector base this exceptional silkscreen by Japanese contemporary master, Takashi Murakami.

THIS WORK IS ONE OF THE MOST STUNNING SILKSCREENS I HAVE SEEN IN THE LAST TWO DECADES RELEASED BY MURAKAMI.

Be sure to view the last few pictures in order to see the stunning detail as well as the texture present on this work.

While all the Cleveland Musuem Editions are stunning; this work is perfection. My absolute favorite.

“Skulls” (Cleveland Museum of Art Edition, 2025) is a hand-pulled silkscreen in colors on wove paper, measuring approximately 20 x 20 inches (50.8cm x 50.8cm). The edition is one of 300, and the work is hand signed and numbered in graphite pencil by Murakami. It also bears both the KaiKai KiKi LTD blind stamp and the Cleveland Museum of Art blind stamp, confirming its provenance as part of the museum’s VIP edition series.

This rare edition spotlights Murakami’s iconic skull motif — here rendered in a beautiful and haunting spectrum of blues, from pale sky to deep cobalt — with subtle color shifts, layering, and delicate edges that produce depth, texture, and visual intrigue. The density of skull forms and overlapping shading gives a sense of infinite repetition and contemplation. The finesse of this printing — from crisp outlines to gradients — speaks to Murakami’s mastery in silkscreen production and his exacting standards for color fidelity and registration.

Takashi Murakami is indisputably one of the defining artists of the 21st century. As founder of the Superflat movement, he collapsed boundaries between fine art, anime, pop culture, and street sensibility. His collaborations read like a who’s who of high art and culture: Louis Vuitton, Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, Supreme, and many more. His works hang in the permanent collections of major institutions worldwide — from the Museum of Modern Art to the Louvre — and he has participated in landmark exhibitions at galleries across Asia, Europe, and the United States.

On the market, Murakami’s works command extraordinary prices. His rare, large-scale silkscreens and large paintings have achieved auction records well into seven figures. Celebrity collectors — from musicians and fashion designers to high-profile collectors — consistently chase new Murakami releases. The Cleveland Museum Edition series, in particular, are prized for being museum-backed, limited, and beautifully produced.

The “Skulls” edition is deeply desirable not only for its visual power but for its investment potential. Because Cleveland Museum editions are rare to release and rarely appear on the secondary market, collectors know that acquiring one is a statement piece. As demand for Murakami’s output continues to intensify globally, pieces like this offer excellent upside as blue-chip contemporary art assets.

We are proud to offer this extremely sought-after edition to our clients. APC ART currently holds several other Cleveland Museum Murakami editions in stock; feel free to inquire.
