The artist

A life remade through paint

Born in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1983, B. Robert Moore once worked as a corporate IT manager. Painting became part of confronting personal adversity and recovery, opening a path to a practice shaped by memory, resilience and joy.

In 2023, his Thinkspace Projects exhibition Out the Mud: A Black American Rite of Passage sold out. In 2024, In Loving Memory became his first solo museum exhibition at the Des Moines Art Center, which acquired Kin to War for its permanent collection. A work by Moore has also been acquired by the Smithsonian for permanent display.
